Add a Contact to the Directory on Your Desk Phone

Updated on

The Contact Directory allows you to program non-RingCentral contacts into the phone. This is a great feature for partner agencies you may frequently call.

You can either manually add a contact, or you can add a contact from a recent call. To learn how to view and call contacts in your phone directory, click here.

To Manually Add a Contact

1. Press the Home button to return to the main screen.

2. Navigate to Directories with the arrow keys.

3. Press the Key between the arrows.

4. Press the Select soft key to select the Contact Directory.

5. Press the Add soft key.

6. Enter the first name, last name, and contact number of the contact from the keypad.

Pretend it's 2005 and you're texting a friend. To enter the name Charlie, you would type 222 for C, 44 for H, 2 for A and so on.

7. Select Save.

To Add a Contact from a Recent Call:

1. Press the Home button to return to the main screen.

2. Navigate to Directories with the arrow keys.

3. Press the Key between the arrows.

4. Navigate to Recent Calls with the arrow keys.

5. Select Recent Calls.

6. Navigate to the contact you'd like to add with the arrow keys.

7. Press the Info soft key.

8. Press the Save soft key.

9. Enter the first name and last name of the contact from the keypad.

10. Press Save.

Now you can get rid of the towering stack of phonebooks. I know...you'll miss the smell.
