RingCentral for Salesforce lets you make and receive calls directly from your Development Team Salesforce account. Once your call has begun, you can log the call with details and notes as activity on the account.
This article shares how to make a call and log activity through RingCentral for Salesforce. To learn how to login to RingCentral for Salesforce for the first time, click here.
There are two ways to make a call and log activity within RingCentral for Salesforce. You can either call directly from a contact or account record, or you can use the dialpad within Salesforce and search for the contact you'd like to call.
Make a Call from a Contact or Account Record
1. Login to Salesforce.
2. Search for the name or contact you’d like to call.
3. Click on their contact or account profile preview.
4. Click on their phone number to start the call.
If you are not logged in to RingCentral for Salesforce, the blue phone symbol will have a slash through it. To learn how to login to RingCentral for Salesforce, click here.
During or immediately after the call, you can enter your activity notes in the RingCentral for Salesforce popup.
5. Type in the Subject of your call.
6. Select Call as the type of activity.
7. Type in any Notes relevant to the call.
8. If you need to add an additional contact or change the related contact, e.g., if you were speaking to a couple, click on the arrow by Contact and add the contact.
9. If the call was related to acknowledging a donation, click the arrow by related to and select the donation the call was concerning.
10. Done!
Make a Call from the Dial Pad
1. Login to Salesforce.
2. Click on the phone icon in the bottom lefthand corner of the browser.
3. Type in the name of the contact you'd like to call.
4. Select the correct contact.
5. Press the Green Phone icon.
During or immediately after the call, you can enter your activity notes in the RingCentral for Salesforce popup.
6. Type in the Subject of your call.
7. Select Call as the type of activity.
8. Type in any Notes relevant to the call.
9. If you need to add an additional contact or change the related contact, e.g., if you were speaking to a couple, click on the arrow by Contact and add the contact.
10. If the call was related to acknowledging a donation, click the arrow by related to and select the donation the call was concerning.
